- What is the Learning Resources Credit Allocation (LRCA)?
The LRCA is a credit allocation administered by Alberta Education that assists eligible Alberta school authorities to enhance learning programs for Grade 1 - 12 students. Eligible schools can apply the LRCA towards 25% of their purchases at the LRC. For more information, click here or contact Toby Donovan.
- What is the Early Order Discount (EOD) Program?
The Early Order Discount (EOD) program is a savings opportunity offered during January 1st through May 15th. The EOD program is the result of cooperation between the Learning Resources Centre and several Canadian Educational publishers.
The LRC and participating educational publishers offer discounts on thousands of learning resources ordered during this period. Early Order Discount purchases are delivered prior to the beginning of the school year.
- Is my credit card secure when I place an order?
The LRC uses a VeriSign ® Global Server ID from Soltrus to provide authenticated, 128-bit encryption technology for online commerce. Users visiting our site can submit credit card numbers or other personal information to the site through their Web browser, with assurance that they are really doing business with the LRC (and not an impostor) and that the information which they are sending can not be intercepted or decrypted by anyone other than the LRC.

Alberta schools accessing services for students with visual impairments are not required to become a Registered Customer. For more information on the registration process for students with visual impairments, click here.

Click Find A Resource on the navigation bar and select the SSVI Catalog. For detailed instructions for searching and requesting, refer to the SSVI Catalog Tutorial, check the Online Help, or E-Mail lrccustserv@gov.ab.ca.

Fill out the Return Request
and fax/mail to LRC. Once your return is authorized, LRC will call or fax you with a Return Number and instructions on returning the resources.

- What is the Special Order Service?
The LRC can source and price learning resources that are not currently listed in our Resources Catalog. A Special Order is a request for a resource that the LRC does not list in its Resources Catalog for sale to Alberta or BC schools. If you represent a registered Alberta or BC school or school authority, and the resource you need is a current educational item of a type that the LRC would normally list, you can place a request for the resource through our Special Order Service.
